About this event
Join us for a walking tour on this first Saturday of the month, when admission is free for Collier County residents. For those without proof of county residence, I have a limited number of free passes, which I offer on a first come, first served basis. Otherwise, adult admission costs $26.95.
Archeological excavations have revealed that the oldest known zoological collection existed in ancient Egypt, circa 3500 BCE. The oldest zoo still operating today was constructed in 1752, in Vienna, Austria.
The Naples Zoo property began as an exotic botanical garden in 1919. Exotic wild animals under human care were introduced in 1969, and accreditation by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums was earned in 2001.
After touring the zoo, we can stop in the outdoor Cafe Roar located on the property for a hot or cold drink, snack, or lunch.
Listed by Meetup: Bonita Springs, FL, gathered by the Naples events calendar.
