  • Naples Children Foundation said its 12th online auction at the Naples Wine Festival raised over $1 million — the auction has brought nearly $6 million since 2015 and funds will support local nonprofits with grant awards on March 16.  WINK News
  • Women of Marco begin accepting donations today through Feb. 26 for their annual rummage sale to support missions. The sale will take place on Feb. 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the church parking lot on 525 N. Collier Blvd, Marco Island.  Coastal Breeze News
  • Habitat for Humanity of Collier County is hosting the 15th Annual Give to the Max Matching Challenge to support affordable housing for essential workers, teachers & service employees.   • Following yesterday’s freeze, local experts advise residents to scratch plant bark to check for green tissue and water to thaw soil. They recommend covering plants with frost cloth — a key method to shield them if another cold snap arrives soon.  News-Press

  • The state confirmed a measles outbreak in Collier County—four cases were officially reported while a local clinic noted 20 additional cases; updated numbers are expected Thursday as Ave Maria University offers resources and takes steps to keep students safe.  Fox 4
  • AAUW Greater Naples and its charitable foundation are hosting a lecture on women’s healthcare titled 'From Challenges to Change: Advancing Women’s Healthcare' on Feb. 24 at 5:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation (6340 Napa Woods Way) with a catered reception following the program.  Florida Weekly
  • The Florida Department of Health in Lee County issued a health alert after harmful blue-green algae toxins were found in the Caloosahatchee River-Sebastian Canal on Feb. 2.   • On Feb. 5, Reverend Michael P. Orsi from Physicians Regional Hospital urged community members to vaccinate against measles to protect public health amid a recent outbreak, noting that unvaccinated individuals risk spreading the disease.  News-Press
