  • The Naples Children Foundation announced that its 12th annual Naples Winter Wine Festival online auction raised over $1 million, adding to nearly $6 million since 2015. The funds will support grants for local non-profits serving children when awarded on March 16.  Life In Naples

CULTURE NEWS

  • The International Network of Creatives will host its 3rd Annual Spring into the Arts Gala on Thursday, March 5 at Naples Grande Beach Resort (starting at 5 p.m.). The event will honor six outstanding SWFL creatives and feature Kirk Cameron, live and silent auctions, and a gourmet dinner.  Life In Naples

  • The Boys & Girls Club of Collier County launched its 26-for-26 program awarding 26 $1,000 scholarships to local graduating seniors planning to continue education. Applicants must apply online by March 31 to be considered.  Life In Naples

  • Help a Diabetic Child (HADC) will partner with Veronica Beard for a shopping event on Saturday, Feb. 21 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Waterside Shops (5415 Tamiami Trail N.) where 10% of all purchases will benefit diabetes supplies for children in need.  Life In Naples
  • Lee Health has set in motion a partial emergency response after measles cases were confirmed in Collier County near Ave Maria University; officials advise unvaccinated people to get vaccinated and ask anyone with symptoms to stay home to help prevent further spread.  Fox 4
  • Registered dietitian nutritionist Gisela Bouvier shared heart healthy snack ideas this February—recommending pistachios and 100% pomegranate juice to help reduce heart disease risk and suggesting a pistachio trail mix for game day.  ABC7
  • NCH in Naples is using artificial intelligence during colonoscopies to help detect polyps and abnormal lesions at nearly 14% higher rates. Dr. Kunal Suryawala said the GI Genius system works in the background while doctors perform the procedure and recommends screening starting at age 45.  NBC2
  • Southwest Florida hosted the Go Red for Women event for National Wear Red Day, featuring a luncheon at the Ritz-Carlton Naples, Tiburon on Feb. 5 that brought survivors, community leaders and health care providers together to raise awareness about heart disease in women.  WGCU
  • DOH-Collier issued a water quality advisory for Clam Beach Park after tests showed Enterococcus bacteria levels exceed safe limits; officials advise against water activities until levels improve (tests were completed Wednesday).  ABC7
