- ➤ Naples hosts a busy weekend of events. Naples Jazzmasters present a free concert from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Norris Community Center (755 Eighth Ave. S.), Nate Bargatze performs at Hertz Arena on Feb. 27 and 28, and blues guitarist Eric Gales is in Bonita Springs on March 1. Naples Daily News
- ➤ Southwest Florida theaters are busy this week with six shows opening, five closing, and 16 continuing runs. - ➤ On Tuesday, Feb. 24, nearly every Florida county was under freeze, frost, or cold weather advisories as temperatures fell and wind chills dropped as low as 25—residents were advised to bundle up before heading out. News-Press
- ➤ A brush fire burning more than 25,000 acres in Collier County & Big Cypress National Preserve remains active since it ignited on Feb. 23. Officials report lower wind speeds and advise nearby residents to stay alert as smoke reduces visibility. News-Press
