- ➤ State Road 29 was closed from Interstate 75 to U.S. 41 on Saturday, Feb. 28 as Florida Highway Patrol and Forestry Services worked to curb a 25,000 acre brush fire in Big Cypress National Preserve. Only local residents who were not evacuated could access the area, and patrols monitored traffic. Naples Daily News
