  • Florida gas prices increased 82 cents since the Iran War began on Feb. 28, with Daytona Beach and Port Orange stations showing $3.79 a gallon on March 10 and March 11. The steady rise in prices followed a gradual weeklong climb (local station data).  Naples Daily News

  • United Church of Marco Island donated $4,600 to support literacy programs at Tommie Barfield Elementary School during a worship service — the check was presented by Chair Michelle Hennessy to Literacy Coach Molly Skudnig and Principal Amanda Kubin.   • Florida legislators passed a bill allowing retailers to round cash transactions to the nearest nickel since pennies are no longer produced. The law pending Gov. Ron DeSantis's signature instructs that totals ending in 1-2 cents round down, 3-4 round up, 6-7 round down and 8-9 round up, affecting cash sales.  Naples Daily News

  • The Wilson & Johnson Private Foundation donated $500,000 to support the expansion of the NCH Rooney Heart Institute.
