ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for Drake Sweet, a freediver who did not resurface after a dive about 60 miles off the Naples coast. Air and surface crews (activated by two distress signals around 5 p.m. Thursday) are scanning the waters (Drake was last seen leaving a 21-foot boat) for any sign of him. ABC7
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Naples Philharmonic Orchestra will perform Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with over 100 singers led by Music Director Alexander Shelley—Beethoven took 40 years to complete the work and it remains a worldwide favorite. The Naples Press
- ➤ Naples Seafood & Music Festival began on Friday at 4 p.m. and will run until Sunday at 6 p.m. at 7035 Airport-Pulling Road — offering live music and coastal flavors with free admission. WINK News
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Naples conservation groups are joining together on Saturday, March 15, 2025 (the third Saturday in March) to celebrate Save the Florida Panther Day and work to protect endangered Florida panthers. Local partners (such as the Naples Zoo and wildlife officials) are teaching the community and improving road safety measures to help expand the panther’s territory. WINK News

- ➤ On Saturday, March 15th, 2025, the Collier Planning Commission approved an amendment that would remove the requirement for public hearings on rezoning petitions in the county. The change—heading toward a final vote—could fast-track reviews for future land development proposals. The Naples Press
