  • Angel is a 2-year-old terrier mix at Gulf Coast Humane Society who completed treatment for heartworm and is now ready for adoption — the shelter advises a dog-to-dog meet to ensure a proper match with any potential canine siblings.  ABC7

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Trader Joe's is recalling 61,500 bottles of Gerolsteiner 750ml Sparkling Water due to potential cracks that may cause lacerations. Customers who bought the bottles between December and January should stop using them and return the product for a refund.  News-Press

CRIME NEWS

  • The Florida Highway Patrol reported that on Monday at 10:38 a.m. a hit-and-run collided with a Cape Coral woman's vehicle as the driver attempted to change lanes on northbound I-75 at the Immokalee Road ramp and then fled in a dark grey 2024 Hyundai Elantra with damage to the left rear quarter panel — officers are asking anyone with information to come forward.  WINK News
  • Florida Highway Patrol troopers are searching for a woman accused of a hit-and-run on I-75 in Collier County after she struck the passenger side of a vehicle while trying to change lanes on the entrance ramp from Immokalee Road—troopers recovered a damaged 2024 Hyundai Elantra at the scene.  NBC2

  • Two outdoor art festivals will take place on March 22 and 23 in Southwest Florida. The 37th Annual Naples Downtown Art Fair at Cambier Park will feature more than 200 exhibitors and draw over 15,000 visitors—while the Art League of Marco Island Craft Show will be held at the Marco Island Center for the Arts.  WGCU

EDUCATION NEWS

  • After a record-setting Naples Winter Wine Festival, the Naples Children and Education Foundation awarded over $34 million in grants on March 17 to nearly 50 Collier County children’s charities at a reception held at The Ritz-Carlton Naples, Tiburón. The grants include an $8 million investment to expand early learning programs and close gaps in early childhood education.  WINK News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Florida Wildlife Federation said Tuesday it will work with the Gulf Partnership to invest $150,000 each year for three years to help buy and protect Florida land. The money will go to the Project Assistance Fund to pay for costs like appraisals and legal reviews—helping land trusts move quickly on conservation projects.  WGCU
