- ➤ In Naples, 14-year-old Clayton Miller was killed when he was struck while riding his e-bike near Lakeland Avenue and Madison Drive as rising e-bike use exposed safety gaps and local advocates distributed helmets and reflective vests—tools to help make riders more visible. NBC2
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Publix stores in Florida will be closed on Easter Sunday, April 20—as one of only three holidays the chain observes for closure—to allow associates time with family, so local shoppers must plan to visit another store. Naples Daily News

- ➤ La Bohème crowned the Opera Naples Festival Under the Stars as its headliner when performances on March 6 and March 8 in Cambier Park drew nearly full seating and about 4,500 guests—a 30% jump in ticket sales. - ➤ Two endangered North Atlantic right whales and a calf were spotted off Fort Myers Beach and Marco Island on Wednesday by local charter captains and fishermen—NOAA reports there are only about 370 of these whales left in the world. NBC2

- ➤ Naples is set to improve beach access at Vedado Way Beach by installing ADA-compliant access mats starting in April. The city council approved a $125,000 project expected to finish in about one month. WINK News
