- ➤ Nikki Compress and Gabrielle Romero are breaking barriers in construction in Naples as they manage groundwork and safety while showing that women can succeed in a field dominated by men. - ➤ Traffic in Southwest Florida improved as FDOT poured 300 yards of concrete on the Little Pine Island Bridge deck last Friday, reaching a milestone in Phase 1 of its rebuild. Motorists should plan for a northbound off-ramp closure at Collier County’s diverging diamond interchange Tuesday night (detour routes provided) and a southbound closure Wednesday night (follow posted signs). - ➤ A revolutionary spinal fusion surgery called CemLif is being developed in Naples to treat severe back pain by using tiny, curved needles to inject a special cement—eliminating the need for rods or screws. Dr. Mark Frenkel, working under the Physicians Regional Healthcare System, has performed 50 procedures since January 2024, and one patient, Ana Algner, regained her mobility after last year's surgery. - ➤ NCH Rooney Heart Institute finished a clinical trial of its new Affera Mapping and Ablation System—with the Sphere-9 Catheter—to treat atrial fibrillation and other heart rhythm problems. - ➤ Today, the Food Safety—Inspection Service announced a recall of about 212,268 pounds of liquid egg products made by Cargill Kitchen Solutions— a Lake Odessa, Michigan establishment— that were produced on March 12th and 13th because they may contain a cleaning solution with sodium hypochlorite. There are no confirmed reports of adverse reactions and the products have been distributed to food service locations in Florida and other states. WINK News
