Costco submitted plans for a new South Naples store located at the southeast corner of Collier Boulevard and Rattlesnake Hammock Road—covering 22 acres with a 162,671-square-foot retail warehouse, fuel station, and 819 parking spaces.
County staff will review the design next before the project appears at public hearings—addressing concerns over traffic, safety, and building layout.
Naples chef Kayla Pfeiffer signed the lease for Heyday Cookshop, a new restaurant set to open by the end of the year near U.S. 41 and Neapolitan Way.

Rep. Vern Buchanan and Rep. Kathy Castor introduced bipartisan legislation banning oil drilling in both state and federal waters off Florida's coasts after concerns grew that another spill like Deepwater Horizon could devastate local beaches + harm tourism and fishing industries.
The measure aims to protect Florida's marine environment and local jobs.
A bill to stop oil drilling near three sensitive waterways including those by Apalachicola Bay cleared the state committee on Tuesday and will go to the House for debate.
Local oyster farmers and tour guides say the 10-mile buffer zone will protect jobs and clean water — while some critics say the rule is too strict.

In February 2025, the Naples housing market saw inventory rise 35.8% to 7,320 active listings while the median closed price increased 4% to $650,000 and closed sales dropped 9.5% to 584.
