ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A driver crashed into St. Matthew's House Thrift Store on Thursday at 10:40 a.m., injuring at least five people and causing heavy traffic on Airport-Pulling Road near the Collier County Government Complex as deputies secured the scene—officials provided care to the injured. Fox 4
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Collier County deputies investigated a shooting near Poinciana Elementary School on Thursday morning along Airport-Pulling Road — law enforcement was present though the investigation was not linked to the school and posed no threat to the community. Fox 4
- ➤ Shawndell Deandre McCann Joseph of Naples was found guilty of shooting at Abaco Bay apartments off Bayshore Drive near Sugden Regional Park and of violating his probation—his sentencing on May 5 will be for a minimum of 15 years in prison. News-Press

- ➤ The Marco Island Shell Club awarded $20,000 in scholarships and grants to students in marine sciences and conservation, including endowed awards at Florida Gulf Coast University that received an extra $2,000 each.
