- ➤ The Conservancy of Southwest Florida raised over $2 million yesterday at its annual gala at the Ritz-Carlton in Naples (with more than 400 guests in attendance) when a $100,000 bid for a stay at board member Alligator Ron Bergeron’s Everglades property and Burmese python scouting trips helped fund environmental programs. - ➤ Florida taxpayers waiting on refunds are advised that delays are usually due to simple errors, like mistyped numbers, and the IRS recommends checking status once daily using the official (Where's My Refund?) tool or IRS2Go app. Paper returns may take 6-8 weeks and filing a second return can cause further delays. - ➤ Health officials lifted the water quality advisory at Lowdermilk Park on April 9 after tests showed Enterococcus bacteria dropped to safe levels, so swimmers can return to the beach ahead of the weekend. The advisory was issued on April 8 because contamination levels were high. Naples Daily News
