  • Yesterday, Florida gas prices rose nearly 9 cents for regular fuel as the U.S. initiated a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz amid an unfolding Iran War. The statewide average reached $4.105 per gallon — marking an increase of over $1.22 since the conflict began, AAA reported.  Naples Daily News

  • Florida is experiencing its most active wildfire season in decades with smoke drifting into Naples (reducing visibility and air quality). Officials advise residents to stay indoors and limit outdoor activities amid worsening drought and La Nina conditions.  Naples Daily News
  • On Monday, Apr. 13, a rapid wildfire near Naples in the Picayune Strand State Forest spread to about 1,500 acres, prompting evacuations and the setting up of a smoke refuge in Collier County amid the state’s worst drought in 24 years.  News-Press
