- ➤ Cyclist Steve Gunther, who lost a friend in 2017, is pushing for the Bonita Estero Rail Trail to run 11.4 miles from Old 41 in Bonita to Estero Parkway. Gunther and over 4,000 supporters hope the project will offer a safer route for cyclists (including family rides) in our community. ABC7

- ➤ RSW's terminal expansion led to the permanent closure of Dunkin' and Beaches Travelmart near Concourse B as of April 26, with new eateries including Popeyes, Ford's Garage and Air Margaritaville planned for the pre-security area; the project will also add a new concourse, more gates and a TSA checkpoint. - ➤ Florida gas prices jumped 14 cents overnight from April 27 to April 28 to reach $4.084 a gallon. Monroe County saw the highest price at $4.326 (with Bay County the cheapest) as rates rebounded after a week of declines. News-Press

- ➤ A study finds that about 25% of sunscreen washes off during water activities, releasing chemicals harmful to coral reefs. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Collier County commissioners approved Alico Inc.'s plan to develop Corkscrew Grove East on former citrus grove land near Corkscrew Road, featuring up to 4,502 homes, commercial space, and affordable housing.
