- ➤ The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission finished its investigation into Florida’s first deadly black bear attack after finding partial remains of 89-year-old Robert Markel 100 yards from his Jerome home on Monday & killed three bears weighing 207, 263 and 434 pounds after evidence linked a bear to the attack. - ➤ A 32-year-old woman from Lehigh Acres, Crystal Garza, was arrested for allegedly serving as the getaway driver in armed robberies at five Immokalee locations from Jan. 1 to Feb. 4 — her husband, Christopher Arrick Townsend, has been in jail since Feb. 27 on similar charges. WINK News
- ➤ A car crashed through St. Matthew’s House thrift store in Naples in April and hurt several people—Ali Gallahue who broke a bone, cut her foot, and hit her head—and suspect Donald Lee Russell Jr. is now in jail on seven felony charges. NBC2
