- ➤ A new study finds that many childcare centers in our county are full and costly for families, with 73% on waitlists and 60% of parents saying cost limits their options. Naples Children & Education Foundation will invest $8 million to expand access — local plans also include recruiting more early childhood educators and improving transportation options to ease the shortage. - ➤ Fourteen Collier County high school seniors have been named finalists for the 2025 Winged Foot Scholar-Athlete Award, with the winner to be announced on May 15 at the 36th annual banquet at the Ritz-Carlton Tiburón Resort (keynote by former Miami star Jonathan Vilma). Each finalist will receive $5,000 while the winner earns a $10,000 scholarship (given as $2,500 per year over four years). Naples Daily News
- ➤ Lee County high schools nominated 42 student-athletes for the 39th annual Rotary South Scholar Athlete Banquet held today at Bell Tower DoubleTree—top male and female athletes will be recognized and Service Above Self Award scholarships totaling $41,200 will be given. News-Press

- ➤ Lee Health launched the Hospital at Home program last November at Gulf Coast Medical Center to care for patients with pneumonia, COPD, heart failure, and other conditions at home. The program expanded at Cape Coral Hospital on May 8—using video visits and in-home treatments—aiming to lower hospital readmissions. Naples Daily News
