- ➤ Deputies arrested a man aged 22 and a teen aged 17 after a standoff at the Whistler's Green apartments off Green Boulevard in Naples; both face multiple felony charges for armed robbery and a February shooting injuring a man aged 18—officials said the older suspect briefly fled to a roof before being caught— and investigators recovered a gun, oxycodone and cash from their vehicle. - ➤ A standoff at a Naples apartment complex ended with deputies arresting 22-year-old Christian Jeremy Wolf—a convicted felon wanted for a February shooting and linked to an armed robbery—and a 17-year-old with active felony warrants, after Wolf fled on foot and was caught following a brief roof standoff while a vehicle yielded a firearm, oxycodone, and cash. - ➤ Production began on the movie Heels to Holster in Naples in April with former Superman actor Dean Cain starring and independent producer Jason Campbell leading the project. The film is based on Naples author Shirley Watral’s memoir of surviving domestic abuse & includes scenes shot at local sites like Fifth Avenue and the Naples Police Department. News-Press

- ➤ Florida Repertory Theatre's Education program will offer summer theater camps for kids aged 5 to 18 that run daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The camps include two-week intensive sessions and mini-star programs—with shows like Frozen, Jr. and Annie, Jr.—and will charge $440 for intensives and $325 for mini sessions while also providing volunteer roles for older students. - ➤ After eight drownings this year, North Collier Fire Rescue is training 50 firefighters to serve as lifeguards at local waterparks to help prevent drownings during the busy summer season.
