- ➤ A 15-year-old was fatally shot just after 1 a.m. on Monday near Parkside Elementary at Whistler's Cove Apartments in Collier County when a 911 caller reported hearing gunshots while smoking a cigarette outside — deputies later arrested a 13-year-old for recklessly handling a loaded handgun found near the pool area. - ➤ A construction worker digging for Florida Power & Light on May 22 at Daniels Road in Naples discovered human remains that include jaw fragments, a femur bone, possible ribs and a skull fragment, and the Collier County Sheriff's Office said the bones appeared to have been buried for a long time.
