  • Walmart's 30-minute delivery service has expanded to 33 cities, bringing grocery and prescription shopping to Naples and Fort Myers after starting in only seven areas. Customers can shop from 100,000 items, including groceries & prescriptions, with plans to reach additional cities later.  ABC7
  • The Florida Lotto jackpot hit $29.25 million for the May 30 drawing (its 32nd rollover), and players now await the next drawing on Wednesday, June 3 to see if a winner emerges. Tickets cost $2 and drawings occur at 11:15 p.m. ET on Wednesdays and Saturdays.  News-Press

  • Pope Leo published his encyclical 'The Greatness of Humanity' yesterday, urging that AI be used to promote human dignity rather than being deployed in warfare, health care, or global goods distribution.   • A Marco Island Historical Society post recalled Brenda Starr, Girl Reporter, a character from a 1943 comic by Dalia Messick who was inspired by her Marco Island home on Fourwinds Avenue; the strip debuted in 1940 and ran until 2011 & became a pioneering example of female-led comics.  News-Press

  • Lake Okeechobee is declining due to nutrient overload and warming temperatures that trigger dangerous cyanobacteria blooms (risking public health when toxic water is released to prevent flooding in downstream rivers).
