- ➤ Residents in Naples received mosquitofish from the Collier Mosquito Control District at Sugden Regional Park to reduce summer mosquitoes. Biologist Rachel Bales said each fish, capable of consuming (100 larvae), may help cut down the mosquito population and added another distribution event is set for June 7 at North Collier Regional Park. - ➤ A Naples resident — Darren Dione Aquino, CEO of Advocates for Disabled Americans — filed a lawsuit against the city to stop a drag show planned for June 7 at Cambier Park because he said it could harm disabled children. The suit claims the city did not protect disabled kids under the Americans with Disabilities Act and follows a federal ruling that allowed the event as free speech. News-Press

- ➤ Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) is vacating 82 wins across seven sports (softball, baseball, men's basketball, men's soccer, women's basketball, men's tennis, and women's golf) after NCAA violations for improper student-athlete certification affected the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons. The penalties include a $25,000 fine, a two-year probation period and a 15-day recruiting restriction for the men’s tennis program. ABC7
