  • GL Homes held its annual CAN-tastic Competition on June 10th as teams from its Lee and Collier counties communities built miniature homes out of food cans from Harry Chapin Food Bank—winning designs helped raise 1,000 cans and a $10,000 donation for hunger relief at St. Matthew’s House.  WGCU

  • At Seagate Beach on Saturday, a high school party turned violent when gunshots rang out—24-year-old Gabriel Pelletier was shot in the calf and his car damaged—and witnesses said dozens of teens fled as police responded after an earlier fight at Naples Pier.  ABC7
  • As hurricane season begins, scammers target storm recovery efforts by posing as FEMA representatives and offering fake repair, charity, or rental services—warned by the National Insurance Crime Bureau, which reports fraud costs Americans $9.3 billion yearly.   • On June 10, Gov. Ron DeSantis signed five bills to protect children from sexual crimes, with one bill—Brooke's Law—requiring online platforms to remove deepfake content within 48 hours of a victim’s request.   • Collier County approved a $56M mental health center on Golden Gate Parkway—its construction is underway next to the current David Lawrence Center and will offer 120 beds—designed to address the community’s growing mental health needs.  WINK News

  • A Southwest Florida luxury builder group purchased the 1624 Gulf Shore Blvd North property in the Naples Harbour Club for $17.5 million and announced plans to redevelop it into premium condominiums with individual garages, private elevators, and resort-style amenities. The project — led by Borelli Construction with MHK Architecture and Outside Production International Landscape Architects — will help revitalize the Miracle Mile that suffered damage from Hurricane Ian.  Florida Weekly
