- ➤ The historic Great Canoe Races of Naples returned on Saturday with five races at Baker Park on the Gordon River, marking the first race since 2020 with nearly 65 paddlers and vendors. - ➤ The Moorings Property Owners Association approved license plate reader cameras at three entrances along U.S. 41—supported by 77% of 1,400 homeowners who ranked safety as their top concern—to aid local law enforcement in criminal investigations. The $110,000 cameras will be maintained for five years using funds leftover from the Moorings Beach Park rebuild after Hurricane Milton, with installation plans still pending. ABC7
- ➤ At its meeting yesterday at 8:30 a.m., the Naples City Council reviewed a proposal for a utility rate hike—if approved, trash, water, and stormwater bills will rise by about $46 a year starting Oct. 1.
