- ➤ The People's Union USA, led by John Schwarz, is boycotting McDonald's because the company rolled back its DEI initiatives and is accused of price gouging and worker exploitation. The boycott began on June 24 and will last until June 30 — McDonald's has not commented and Florida has 882 locations. Naples Daily News

- ➤ The Marco Island Historical Museum is hosting an exhibit titled 'Backstage Hollywood: The Photographs of Bob Willoughby'—running from June 17 to Aug. 9—that features behind-the-scenes images from 17 iconic film sets that give a rare look at classic Hollywood stars. WGCU

- ➤ Naples police increased patrols around places of worship to ease concerns after airstrikes on Iranian sites and a missile launch at a U.S. base in Qatar over the weekend. The department worked with federal, state and local partners—contacting religious leaders to ensure there were no credible threats in the community. ABC7
- ➤ Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier said a temporary migrant detention center called Alligator Alcatraz will open in early July at the abandoned Dade-Collier Training and Transition Airport near Ochopee in the Everglades. Gov. Ron DeSantis will use emergency powers to control the site—amid a $190 million price dispute with Miami-Dade County—while critics worry about its impact on the environment. Naples Daily News
