Naples Botanical Garden hosted its Tasting the Tropics Festival on Saturday — a free event for locals — and extended it through today to let hundreds sample about a dozen tropical fruits from Asia, the Caribbean and Brazil.

Protesters gathered at the access road to the Dade-Collier Training and Transition Airport on June 28th to oppose the construction of an immigrant detention center — called Alligator Alcatraz — with activist Betty Osceola leading the protest.
A steady stream of trucks was seen entering the site — a sign of heavy activity during the demonstration.
Hundreds gathered along U.S. Route 41 near the Miami-Dade and Collier County line to protest the planned migrant detention center in the Everglades—dubbed 'Alligator Alcatraz' by state leaders.
Indigenous protestors claim the project will harm their sacred land and disrupt the local ecosystem.

Experts say removing attached ticks within 24 hours lowers the risk of tick-borne diseases — using bug spray and long sleeves adds extra protection.
