- ➤ On Monday, July 7th, a Fort Lauderdale-bound Delta flight from Atlanta landed safely at Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers after a passenger's personal battery burst into flames midair (carrying 185 passengers and six crew), and no injuries were reported. ABC7

- ➤ A tragic Fourth+July shooting in the Avalon Park community of Ave Maria left Isel Hernandez dead after her mother heard a gunshot while preparing for a party, with neighbors placing flowers by the home and the sheriff's office reporting no arrests as the investigation continues. WINK News
- ➤ A Naples man named Angel Arreguin, 23, was arrested on July 6 after entering Manantial de Vida Church with a loaded 9mm handgun, 60 rounds, and making remarks about mass shootings while doing pushups during service—he faces felony and misdemeanor charges and is under the Baker Act for mental health evaluation. - ➤ A Naples developer asked county leaders to vote today on a revised plan for 129 homes off Immokalee Road that now limits affordable housing to 30% instead of 100%. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Gulf Coast Medical Trauma Center announced it will start using whole blood transfusions in trauma care, making it the first center in Southwest Florida to adopt the new treatment.
