- ➤ The Naples Salvation Army saw a 175% rise in food assistance needs as it distributed 20,000 pounds of food in May and 30,000 pounds in June, serving 600 families compared to 400 before. - ➤ A 27-year-old Pine Island bicyclist was critically injured after being hit by a pickup on the 16-mile bike path on Jan. 27, and fatal bicycle crashes have risen in Lee and Collier counties. Naples police and the Naples Pathways Coalition are now offering free safety gear and urging stricter speed limit enforcement—actions aimed at protecting local riders from further harm. - ➤ Naples police are searching for 15-year-old Grace Kelly Schuldt who left her home on the 700 block of 12th Street North on Wednesday between 8 and 9:20 a.m. riding a silver Trek Verve bicycle + she is described as having dirty blonde hair with purple-dyed ends, blue eyes, standing about 5 feet 3 inches tall and may be wearing a black shirt, black shorts and black shoes. - ➤ On June 16, CROW broke ground on the new Harkey Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Complex in Sanibel after losing its previous facility during Hurricane Ian.
