- ➤ Marco Island police will host a free Bicycle Safety Day and E-Bike Education event at the YMCA of Collier County on August 9—featuring two sessions from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.—with interactive workshops, safety tips and helmet fittings; Island Bicycle Shop and Sun N Fun Sport Rentals will also participate. - ➤ Naples Hooters patrons donated 100 backpacks and $6,000 to the Christmas in July Foundation to help homeless and at-risk public school students in Collier County as classes began. - ➤ Florida law states a daughter with power of attorney cannot serve on her mother's homeowners association board if bylaws limit directors to owners or their spouses.
