- ➤ Warrior Homes of Collier plans to end veteran homelessness in Collier County next year—fewer than 20 homeless veterans remain while the nonprofit has helped over 130 veterans with housing, mental health care, education, and job training. The group will also work on new measures to assist veterans facing the toughest challenges. Fox 4
- ➤ Today, nonprofit Beverly’s Angels partners with Naples police to deliver Hero Kits in every cruiser, each kit holding a coloring book, crayons, a badge sticker, and Benny the Bear to help calm children in crisis—an effort revived by community support and inspired by founder Faith Schwalback’s family legacy. - ➤ Coyotes on Sanibel and Captiva Islands have turned to sea turtle nests after storms reduced their usual prey—40% of the nests have already been affected. The Sanibel Captiva Conservation Foundation is working to lower the nest loss to 10% to help protect the local turtles. WINK News
