Tamiami Ford is hosting a food drive from Sept.
1 to Sept. 25 at 1471 N. Airport Road to support Our Daily Bread Food Pantry during Hunger Action Month. Donations are accepted (Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.) to help combat local food insecurity.
On Friday at Naples Airport, workers safely captured a stray dog spotted on the tarmac; the airport now seeks the pet's owner and urges anyone with details to call Collier County Domestic Animal Services at (239) 252-7387.
Golfers teed off at Copperleaf Golf Club in Estero Saturday morning during the Veteran Appreciation Golf Tournament to support Home Base Florida’s programs for veterans and their families.
Thirty-six veterans played while the event featured lunch, a raffle, speeches and an awards ceremony.

Collier County Public Schools communication specialist Quinton Allen won an SWFL Amateur Players Tour weekend tournament, earning enough points for a national tournament invitation (his second win overall) despite a prior commitment that kept him from attending the event.
He plans to compete again next year.
