- ➤ Local restaurants are joining the annual Sizzle Dining event (running through Sept. 30) to offer discounted prix fixe menus, with $1 from every meal sold going to Blessings in a Backpack to help feed school-age children. - ➤ Historic cottages built on Marco Island in the 1920s were moved to Goodland in the 1950s, quickly changing the small farming area into a village. Collier County plans to preserve the cottages—made with durable Dade County pine—with a grant and community fundraisers. Naples Daily News
