Good morning, Naples. Here's your local news at a glance for Thursday, the 25th of September.

COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Everglades City will host the 15th annual Blessing of the Fleet on Sept 27 at the Camellia Street Grill at 10 a.m.—the free event organized by the Florida Stone Crabbers Association will feature boat blessings, a coconut guava cake contest, live entertainment, and merchandise to support local commercial fishing. After last year's storm lowered turnout, organizers say the event will mark a redemption year for the community.  WGCU
  • Wonder Gardens in Bonita Springs welcomed two rescued otters to its new $300,000 Otter Grotto, and visitors have already gathered to watch the playful mammals. The otters, Ivy (3) and Mae (5), were brought from Louisiana and now live in a habitat with a waterfall, pond, and riverbank features — a key part of the park's ongoing renewal plan.  Naples Daily News
