- ➤ The Sizzle Dining fundraiser ended Sept. 30 and raised $87,483 for the Blessings in a Backpack program that helps local elementary students – 127 restaurants participated and over 87,000 meals were sold. Organizers will return next Sept. with a tenth anniversary event that features a new kick-off party. Naples Daily News
- ➤ On Tuesday, October 21, more than 700 Home Depot volunteers and vendor partners will refurbish Veterans Community Park and Winterberry Park on Marco Island as part of a $500,000 charitable grant honoring local veterans. City officials said Winterberry Park will be closed until October 23 and parts of Veterans Community Park will be closed on the day—volunteers will use 15 transport buses—ensuring that work is safely staged. - ➤ Bean to Cup Coffee Lounge has reopened in a larger Bayshore location after six months of renovations, featuring a Bali-inspired design, full kitchen, and seating for over 60 guests. - ➤ FDOT is developing a $97 million project at the I-75 and SR 951 interchange in Collier County+ crews are widening southbound I-75 to build a new elevated flyover ramp that will let drivers cross Beck and Davis Boulevards. - ➤ Collier County commissioners approved nearly $7M to turn unused train tracks in North Naples into a multi-city trail for walkers, runners and cyclists. The project will cost about $70M and needs contributions from Bonita Springs, Estero and Lee County + it could eventually link over 100 miles of trails with progress expected by 2030. Fox 4

- ➤ Naples Comprehensive Health announced three updates—its Rooney Heart Institute earned a Silver Level Achievement Award from the ACC/NCDR for cardiac care, HSS at NCH now uses the only advanced OrthoGrid Hip AI system in Southwest Florida for hip replacements, and a new gynecologic oncology clinic opened at Pro Scan Women’s Imaging on Vanderbilt Beach Road to treat female cancers. - ➤ Naples Comprehensive Health became the first hospital in Florida to join the FDA-regulated ALIYA Pulsed Electric Field Galvanize Trial, which tests a new non-thermal method to treat lung issues.
