- ➤ The Parrot Outreach Society has rescued over 250 parrots in need of homes in Naples (with an average adoption process of two weeks). The society will host a garage sale in three weeks (Nov. 9, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.) to raise funds and attract volunteers. NBC2
- ➤ Lee County Domestic Animal Services and Fortunate Ferals will host a free workshop on Saturday, Oct. 25 from 1 to 3 p.m. to teach residents how to care for stray and feral cats safely — the event will cover local resources for humane management, and interested residents may register by emailing [email protected]. - ➤ Tropical Storm Melissa formed in the central Caribbean on Oct. 21 and is forecast to become a hurricane as it slowly turns northwest — its path remains uncertain.
