- ➤ For many years, Marco Island decorated Collier Blvd with holiday lights funded by the Beautification Advisory Committee until the city council cut the budget for the upcoming fiscal year and redirected funds to tree planting—this change prompted Erik Condee to donate decorations while local volunteers and Ridge Valley Exteriors provided help with installation, removal, and storage so the tradition will continue. - ➤ A veteran and his wife escaped a fire on Tuesday at around 10 a.m. on Judith Road in Bokeelia when flames from a car spread quickly to their home—neighbors rescued his wife and two dogs, though one helper was hospitalized for smoke inhalation while all were unharmed. ABC7

- ➤ Doctors at Naples Comprehensive Health Rooney Heart Institute now use new artificial intelligence to detect heart attack risk up to 10 years early—using CT scans that measure artery inflammation with a 0.2-millimeter resolution and return results within 24 hours.
