- ➤ Collier County’s Purradise Gardens, a no kill cat shelter caring for nearly 250 cats, faces eviction if it does not raise $11,500 for a septic repair in 10 days. Owner Megan Sorbara said the online fundraiser has reached about $3,000 so far—urgent support is needed to keep the shelter open. WINK News

- ➤ Southwest Florida is in a construction boom with projects like a 24-floor condo in Lee County built by about 100 workers on schedule — however, the industry faces a looming shortage as over 21,000 construction workers are expected to retire in the next decade. Manhattan Construction Company's Robbie Tiedeman said local schools and recruitment efforts are preparing the next generation as Florida’s Economic Opportunity Department projects 11% growth in construction jobs by 2032.
