  • Naples will host the 2025 Walk to End Alzheimer's at Baker Park on Saturday, Nov. 22. The event will start at 8 a.m. (with the walk beginning at 9 a.m.) and is hosted by the Alzheimer's Association, which estimates that over 16,000 people aged 65 and older in Collier County have the disease.  NBC2

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Pop Toy in the Shoppes at Vanderbilt in North Naples has been open for 11 years and is known for its unique holiday displays like Chip Seagull— a Jellycat stuffed animal with punk rock hair— and strong ties with local groups, including toy donations with the Naples Police Department. The store will hold a Black Friday sale on Nov 28 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and a Small Business Saturday event on Nov 29 with 15% off Toys for Tots donations.  Florida Weekly
  • After 125 years in citrus production, Alico ended its farming operations in January and unveiled Corkscrew Grove Villages, a 9,000-home development in northwest Collier County. The Fort Myers-based company will invest $5 million in a wildlife crossing under State Road 82 during the final stages of road widening over the next two years — a measure to protect local wildlife such as panthers and bears.  WGCU

  • Alex Lago’s mixed media exhibition 'Liquid Forest' is on view at the Alliance for the Arts main gallery through Nov 29—he created the series to capture calm amid the constant noise of daily life by using scenes like forests, gardens, and riverbanks.   • Award-winning photographer Andrew West shared his top bird watching spots in Southwest Florida, naming Six Mile Cypress Slough, HARNS MARSH, Lakes Park, Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary, and Tigertail Beach. He also listed bonus sites such as Bunche Beach + J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Preserve and Little Estero Critical Wildlife Area, noting that Bunche Beach is currently closed due to Hurricane Ian.  News-Press

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Crews poured concrete on Tuesday morning for the deck slab of Little Pine Island Bridge after a cold weather delay, marking a major step in the emergency replacement of the hurricane-damaged bridge. Florida Department of Transportation workers will next install new pavement and safety railing—efforts that will help complete the project this winter.  WINK News

  • Restaurants in Naples are offering Thanksgiving to-go dinners to help families avoid cooking and clean-up stress during the holiday season.   • Lydia Ko — the youngest inductee in the LPGA Hall of Fame — is competing at Tiberon Golf Club in the CME Group Tour Championship, where the winner will receive $4 million.
