- ➤ Warrior Homes of Collier received a $25,000 grant from the Moorings Park Foundation to support veteran housing at its six Naples residences today. The nonprofit has housed 139 veterans and provided over 12,000 services in 2025. Naples Daily News
- ➤ Baker Senior Center Naples announced the passing of founder and CEO Dr. Jaclynn Faffer, who built the center into a key resource for more than 1,700 seniors (the center began in 2014 offering over 40 programs). - ➤ Mud Pie (a local retailer) closed its Christmas orders on Dec. 15, guaranteeing delivery by Dec. 25, and offered festive items like treat buckets and wreath hangers for last-minute shoppers. News-Press
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The city of Naples has approved an $11.4M FEMA grant for demolishing the remaining pier — demolition is set to begin early January. Debris not eligible for recycling will go to Bayview Park while materials for rebuilding and artificial reefs will be inspected near the Jolley Bridge. Fox 4
- ➤ Naples Airport is busy with charter and private flights as well as school training; it sits between Goodlette-Frank Road & Airport Road on city-owned land, and its lease lasts until 2068. News-Press

- ➤ A recent study shows rising breast cancer among women aged 18 to 49 in Southwest Florida, and doctors are urging early self-checks and screenings. The report presented at the Radiological Society of North America meeting highlights a growing need for awareness among young women. WINK News
