If you've been stuck on I-75 or U.S. 41 after a crash, you've got another way around. The Three Oaks Parkway extension opened Monday after a ribbon-cutting. WGCU says drivers can now go from Radio Road in Collier to Daniels Parkway in Lee via Three Oaks Parkway, Imperial Parkway and Livingston Road.
Lee County Commissioner Brian Hamman said construction finished about 18 months ahead of schedule. Commissioner Cecil Pendergrass said "the original project went through fiddlesticks. So we moved it over." WGCU also reported that with I-75 and U.S. 41, it's the third direct route from Naples to Fort Myers.
- Road: four divided lanes, with bike lanes and sidewalks on both sides
- New roundabout: Fiddlesticks Blvd. and Old Fiddlesticks Blvd., by Publix
- Daniels Parkway lanes: open after final paving and striping
- Final completion: early 2027
